UA Cinemas go digital with digital cinema solution from GDC and Barco

GDC Technology (“GDC”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider and Barco, a world leader in visualization and display solutions, announced today that they have been selected by UA Cinemas (“UA”) for its digital cinema deployment program in Hong Kong. The contract will see the deployment of 21 units of GDC’s DCI-2000 digital cinema projection systems from April 2009 and the rollout is expected to be completed by the end of the year. This will bring the total number of DCI-2000 installed at the UA chain of cinemas from the current 5 to 26 upon project completion. The DCI-2000 Digital Cinema Integrated Projection System, which consists of GDC’s SA-2100 Digital Cinema Server and Barco’s DLP Cinema® Projector, will be adopted in this deployment.
